DIGITAL FORENSICS
Looking to locate data or understand what activities took place on a device? Digital forensics, also known as computer forensics, is the preservation, extraction, analysis, and presentation of digital media such as hard drives and cellular phones.
Cellular phones are preserved through the extraction process using Cellebrite Inseyets UFED. This process, often times, leads to a full file system extraction. The data is then parsed in Cellebrite Inseyets PA and Axiom Mobile. Electronic reports are prepared for and discussed with clients.
Computers and other digital media are generally preserved using industry-standard write blockers and X-Ways Forensics. Mr. Kelly also maintains special equipment, DeepSpar, that allows for data recovery and forensic imaging of most failing media, such as hard drives.
Mr. Kelly is a Digital Forensics Specialist with a lot of experience in the lab and in the court room.
Meet Adam Kelly
My name is Adam Kelly. I am a digital forensics specialist from Lansing, Michigan.
For the past 18 years, I have preserved, extracted, and analyzed digital media with honor and integrity for some amazing attorneys and companies. My work results in discovering the truth about the data in your matter.
I have served 100’s of criminal defense, probate, civil, and corporate attorneys. The cases I most often work on are intellectual property theft, child sexually abusive material, sex crimes, criminal sexual conduct, fraud, murder, and computer use violations.
I provide expert opinions regarding activities that took place on digital media, such as cellular phones and computer hard drives. I generate non-contraband work product, notes, and expert reports, if requested.
A typical investigation includes the preservation of the evidence. In the case of a cell phone, an extraction is conducted. In the case of a hard drive, a forensic image is created. This raw data serves as a preservation of the evidence and can be analyzed in a plethora of tools, such as Axiom, Cellebrite, X-Ways, and Intella.
If required, I can provide expert testimony at your hearing or trial and have done so in several Federal and County Courts.
